On March 13th I broke my right foot. No, it didn't involve a horse, I don't even have an exciting story about how it happened. In the middle of the night I stepped over my dog Rosco and onto my own darn shoes. The foot turned akwardly and it broke. It was a pretty bad break and I had to keep it elevated for six weeks. I used a wheelchair most of that time. After the first six weeks I had a walking cast for six more.

This situation really changed my life for a while! I could no longer do my barn chores; feeding, turn outs, riding, grooming, etc. And lessons, no lessons for what turned out to be over 2 months!
I'm very grateful to Ed for all of his help. Also to my sister Fran, and a few good friends who checked on me regularly and took time from their own busy lives to come and spend some time with me, and even worked with my horses! I can't express how much that meant.
I'm thankful to God for my health, and for all of the many blessings in my life.
It's wonderful to be back on my feet, and back with the horses!
Thanks for visiting the Lucky Day Ranch website and the first on-line newsletter. And remember, whatever you do with Horses, be safe and have fun!

I had the pleasure of attending the Western States Horse Expo in Sacramento last month. This was the 9th annual event and I've attended each year. Below are some of the photos I took during the two days that I went. So much to see and do there! I felt like a kid in a candy store!
